Accessibility statement

Last updated 30 September 2026

I want this website to be usable by as many people as possible, and I treat accessibility as part of good design rather than an afterthought.

What I aim for

The site is built to work towards the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

What is in place

  • Clear heading structure and semantic markup.
  • Full keyboard navigation with a visible focus outline, and a skip to content link.
  • Labels on every form field, with clear error messages. If a form is sent with something missing, the field is marked and your focus moves straight to it.
  • Focused and linked content is kept clear of the fixed menu bar, so it is never hidden behind it.
  • Links inside text are underlined, not shown by colour alone.
  • A high contrast colour scheme intended to be comfortable to read.
  • Respect for the reduce motion setting. If your device has reduced motion turned on, the scrolling animations and movement are switched off and the content is shown plainly.
  • Meaningful images have descriptive text, and decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
  • A responsive layout that adapts to phones, tablets and desktops, with large tap targets.
  • Every page template is checked automatically against WCAG 2.2 AA before each release, at desktop and phone widths.
  • The interactive product demos are operable by keyboard, with annotations that open on focus or click, charts that carry a written summary, status shown with text as well as colour, and a plain-text explanation available for each demo.

Known limitations

  • Some sections use scroll driven storytelling. A reduced motion mode is provided for anyone who prefers it.
  • Some background imagery is illustrative and is intentionally given empty alternative text so it is skipped by screen readers.
