Privacy policy
Last updated 9 October 2026
This policy explains what personal information I collect through this website, why I collect it, how I look after it, and the rights you have over it. I keep the amount of information I hold to a minimum.
Who is responsible for your information
danielbracher.com is operated by AREYOUFASTER CIC, trading as Are You Faster CIC, a community interest company registered in England and Wales (company number 16536715). Its registered office is Unit 82a, James Carter Road, Mildenhall, Bury St. Edmunds, England, IP28 7DE. The CIC is the data controller for the personal information collected through this website and the SOLVED app. Daniel Bracher runs the site day to day and is your point of contact: you can reach us at admin@areyoufaster.com with any questions about this policy or your information.
The information I collect
I only collect information you choose to give me, plus the basic technical data that any website receives in order to load, and aggregated analytics if you consent to it.
- Enquiries and getting involved. When you use the contact form, or the 'get involved' form on the AYF Digital Pathways page, I collect your name, email address, and the details you provide, such as your business or organisation, website, phone number if you give one, and information about your project, workflow, budget, timeline, or how you would like to get involved, along with whether you are happy for me to contact you about it.
- Testimonials. If you submit a testimonial I collect the business name, website and logo you provide, your name, email address and role, the testimonial text, the work and outcome tags you select, and a record of the permission choices you make together with the date and time you made them. Your name and email are kept private. Only the items you explicitly approve are ever shown publicly.
- SOLVED Studio accounts. If you sign in to the SOLVED Studio, sign-in uses Google, Apple (once Sign in with Apple is switched on) or a one-time link sent to your email address, so there is no password. Google and Apple each tell me your email address and an account id; Google also shares your name and profile photo, and Apple may give a private relay address instead of your own. If you later sign in a second way with the same email address, the two are connected so you keep one account. I store your email address, the progress you make through the material, and anything you choose to save in the Workbench, such as the problems you work through and your notes. This is private to your account by default: only you, and the site administrator for support, can see it, unless you join a group or share a problem with a coach. The administrator's support read also covers any notes a coach leaves on a problem you shared. Joining a group and sharing a problem with a coach are both things you can undo at any time. If you answer the confidence check, only your five point answers are stored as numbers, never anything you type. You can delete your Studio data yourself from Your data in the Studio, or ask me to remove it, at any time.
- Analytics. If you accept analytics in the cookie banner, I use Google Analytics to collect anonymised, aggregated information about how the site is used, such as pages viewed, approximate location by country or region, device and browser type, and interactions like clicks and scroll depth. IP addresses are anonymised, advertising features are switched off, and this information is not used to identify you. No analytics cookies are set unless you accept them, and you can withdraw your consent at any time. In the SOLVED Studio, if you have accepted analytics, I also record which Scene you opened, which beat you reached, that you made a move, which option you picked and how many options you chose, that you finished, that you switched mode, that you answered or skipped a quick check, that you started an assessed run, and that you finished one. These are recorded as short identifiers only, never as anything you type.
- Technical data. Like any website, when your browser loads a page the hosting provider automatically processes basic technical information such as your IP address, device and browser type, and the time of the request. This is used to deliver the site securely and is not used to identify you.
- Local storage. A small entry may be saved in your browser to prevent accidental duplicate form submissions, and to remember your cookie choice. See the cookie policy for details.
- Interactive demos. The product demonstrations in the Product Lab (under /portfolio) run entirely in your browser using fictional sample companies, people and records - not real personal data. Using a demo does not send any of your own information anywhere: nothing you type or click inside a demo is collected, stored or transmitted, beyond the anonymous analytics described above if you have accepted them.
- The Grant finder. Searches, answers and filters you use on the Grant finder page (/grants) are processed entirely in your browser. They are not stored, transmitted or linked to you in any way, beyond the anonymous analytics described above if you have accepted them. The grant information shown there is public sector information republished from official sources under its open licence; it contains no personal data about you.
- The Software Engineer Competency Check. If you take the competency check (/onboarding), your answers, any name, organisation and job title you choose to enter, and your result are processed entirely in your browser and kept there, so a refresh does not lose your place. None of it is sent to me or stored by me, beyond the anonymous analytics described above if you have accepted them, which record that the page was opened but nothing you answer. If you download, copy or email your report, you choose who receives it. You can remove it all at any time with Clear from this device.
- AYF Learning lessons. If you use the Professional Onboarding lessons (/onboarding/learn), which lessons you have started and finished, and how many of each lesson's quick checks you answered correctly, are kept in your browser so you can pick up where you left off, and your place in a lesson is kept until you close the tab, so a refresh does not lose it. Your study plan is worked out in your browser from the competency check result saved there. None of it is sent to me or stored by me, beyond the anonymous analytics described above if you have accepted them, which record which pages were opened but not your progress or your answers. You can remove it at any time with Clear lesson progress on the lessons page.
- Mailing list. If you join the mailing list I store your email address, where on the site you signed up, and when. I use it only to send you the updates you asked for, such as new grants or new guides. I do not share it with anyone, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email or by contacting me, after which your address is deleted.
- Client accounts. If you create an account, sign-in uses Google, Apple (once Sign in with Apple is switched on) or a one-time email link, so there is no password. Google and Apple each tell me your email address and an account id; Google also shares your name and profile photo, and Apple may give a private relay address instead of your own. If you later sign in a second way with the same email address, the two are connected so you keep one account. Beyond that, I store only the details you choose to save (your name, organisation and phone number) so forms can be filled in for you, and you can ask me to delete the account and everything in it at any time.
- Payments. Invoices and payments are handled by Stripe, our payment processor. Card and bank details are entered only on Stripe's own secure pages and never touch this website. Stripe shares with us only what is needed to manage your invoices, such as whether an invoice has been paid. Stripe's own privacy policy applies to the payment itself.
- Landing page briefs. If you apply for a free landing page I collect what you put in the brief form: your organisation's details, your name, email and phone number if given, your answers about style, colours and content, and the files you upload, such as your logo, images and brand documents. Files are resized in your browser before being sent and are stored securely. I use all of this only to assess the request and design and build your page, and I delete it on request.
Why I use your information and the legal basis
- To reply to your enquiry and discuss a possible project. Legal basis: my legitimate interest in responding to people who contact me, and taking steps at your request before any agreement.
- To collect, review and, where you approve it, publish testimonials. Legal basis: your explicit consent, which you give item by item in the form and can withdraw at any time.
- To send you mailing list updates you signed up for. Legal basis: your consent, given when you join the list and withdrawable at any time by unsubscribing.
- To run your client account and prefill forms with the details you saved. Legal basis: taking steps at your request to provide the account you signed up for.
- To issue invoices, collect payments you have agreed to, and keep the records I am required to keep. Legal basis: performing our agreement with you, and legal obligation for accounting records.
- To give you a SOLVED Studio account and save your progress and Workbench so you can pick up where you left off. Legal basis: taking steps at your request to provide the account and features you signed up for, and my legitimate interest in running and improving the Studio.
- To understand how the website is used and to improve it. Legal basis: your consent, given through the cookie banner, which you can withdraw at any time using the cookie preferences link in the footer.
- To count what learners do in the app so I can see which parts of the practice help. Legal basis: your consent, given at first run or in Account, and withdrawable at any time from Account.
- To keep the website secure, prevent abuse and spam, and keep it working. Legal basis: my legitimate interest in protecting the site and its visitors.
- To meet legal obligations where they apply, for example keeping records I am required to keep. Legal basis: legal obligation.
Who I share it with
I do not sell your information and I do not share it for advertising. I use a small number of trusted service providers who process information on my behalf under contract:
- Google (Firebase). The website is hosted on Firebase Hosting. Form submissions and SOLVED Studio account data are stored in Google Firestore, and sign-in for the Studio and the private admin area uses Firebase Authentication. Google acts as my data processor under its data processing terms.
- Google (Analytics). If you consent, Google Analytics processes anonymised, aggregated usage statistics on my behalf so I can measure and improve the site. Advertising features and data sharing for advertising are switched off, and IP addresses are anonymised. The same processor handles the app's usage counts when you have switched usage data on, with no advertising features and no advertising identifier.
- Stripe. Payments, invoices and receipts are processed by Stripe Payments Europe. Stripe receives what is needed to bill you (your name, email and the amounts involved) and holds your card or bank details itself; this website never sees them.
- Anything you switch on yourself. If you join a group in the SOLVED Studio, or share a Workbench problem with a coach, what you chose to share is visible to the people you chose. The Studio bullet above says exactly what each of them sees, and you can undo either at any time.
- I may also share information where I am legally required to, for example to comply with a lawful request or to protect rights, property or safety.
International transfers
My service providers may process information on servers outside the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area. Where that happens, the transfer is protected by appropriate safeguards such as an adequacy decision or Standard Contractual Clauses, as set out in the relevant provider's data processing terms.
How long I keep it
- Enquiries are kept for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and any resulting work, and for a reasonable period afterwards, then deleted.
- Testimonials are kept until you ask me to remove them, or until they are no longer needed.
- SOLVED Studio account data is kept while your account is in use, and is deleted if you ask me to remove it.
- Mailing list addresses are kept until you unsubscribe, then deleted.
- Anonymised analytics data from the website is retained by Google for a limited period, no longer than 14 months, and is then deleted or kept only in aggregated form. The app's usage counts, where you have switched them on, are kept for the period set in the Firebase console, then deleted or kept only in aggregated form.
- You can ask me to delete your information at any time and I will do so unless I am required to keep it.
How I protect it
- Connections to the site are encrypted (HTTPS).
- Raw submissions are never publicly readable. Only an authenticated administrator can view them, and only the testimonial details you approve are published.
- Each SOLVED Studio account is private by default: your progress and saved work are scoped to your own account. Two things you can switch on change that, and only you can switch them on. If you join a group with a code, the person running that group sees the name you type and how much you have finished as numbers, never what you wrote. If you share one Workbench problem with a coach, that one problem and its notes become readable by the person you named, and removing them takes that access away immediately.
- I review testimonials by hand before anything is published, and I collect only the information that is needed.
Your rights
Under UK and EU data protection law you have the right to:
- Ask for a copy of the information I hold about you.
- Ask me to correct information that is wrong or incomplete.
- Ask me to delete your information.
- Ask me to restrict or object to how I use it.
- Ask for your information in a portable format where that applies.
- Withdraw your consent at any time, where I rely on consent, without affecting anything done before you withdrew it.
To exercise any of these rights, contact me at admin@areyoufaster.com. I respond within one calendar month, free of charge. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, although I would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
In the app
The SOLVED app for iPhone and Android is published by AREYOUFASTER CIC under the application id com.areyoufaster.solved. The CIC is the controller for it exactly as it is for this website, and the app uses the same account and the same record as the Studio.
- Signing in. With a one-time email link, with Sign in with Apple on iPhone or with Google on Android. Apple or Google tells the app your email address and an account id, and Google also shares your name and profile photo. Apple may give a private relay address instead of your own. They are used only to sign you in.
- On your device. A cache of your own profile, the content bundle the app ships and updates, and an answer you brought back from your assistant, but only if you chose to keep it. All of it clears on sign-out and on deletion.
- In your account. The same progress document the website writes, plus one small practice document holding your practice days, the week's ring, closed loops, mastery levels, minutes and the current quest. It holds ids and counts only, never anything you wrote.
- Your assistant. The app calls no AI model and holds no API key. You hand a prompt to your own assistant app yourself, and nothing is sent by the app to any assistant or to us.
- Notifications. Off until you turn them on, at most one a day at an hour you choose, plus one on Sunday. Never marketing.
- Usage counts. Only if you choose to share them. The app counts what you do, such as Scenes started and completed, drills answered, handoffs started, checks completed and sign-ins, as counts and ids alone, never anything you wrote. You are asked when you first run the app and you can change your mind at any time in Account. No advertising identifier is used and ad personalisation is off.
- Your rights. The same export and the same two-step deletion as the website, and deletion removes the practice document too.
Analytics in the app
The SOLVED app can count what you do, so the CIC can see which parts of the practice help. This is switched off when the app is installed and stays off unless you turn it on, at first run or later in Account. Nothing you write is ever counted.
- What is counted. Scenes started, Scenes completed, drills answered, handoffs started, checks completed, sign-ins, assessed runs passed, groups joined, and finishing your first run, each as a count with short ids for the pack and Scene, never free text.
- What is never counted. Nothing you wrote, no email address, no name, and no message to or from your assistant.
- Who processes it. Google Analytics for Firebase, acting as AREYOUFASTER CIC's processor under its data processing terms.
- No advertising identifier. The advertising identifier is not collected on either platform, ad personalisation signals are switched off, and the app shows no advertising.
- The one identifier. An app instance id the Firebase SDK generates on the device, not linked to your name or email address, and removed from this device when you switch usage data off.
- How long it is kept. Google keeps it for the retention period set for this project in the Firebase console, then deletes it or keeps only aggregated figures.
- How to switch it off. Account, then Usage data, then Off, at any time, which stops collection immediately and clears the app instance id; you may also decline at first run, which is the default.
Automated decisions
Practice marks, assessed runs and certificates in the Studio and the app are worked out automatically from your own answers. They are a record of your practice, not a decision about you, and nothing with a legal or similarly significant effect on you is decided by a machine.
Children
This website and the SOLVED app are intended for adults. They are not directed at anyone under 18, and I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
I may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. The current version always lives at danielbracher.com/privacy.
